Coinbase Launches Spot Crypto Trading for International Institutional Investors USA

Starting December 14, institutional clients on Coinbase International Exchange can trade Bitcoin and Ether against USD Coin.

Coinbase, the U.S.-based cryptocurrency exchange, has revealed that institutional investors using its international platform can now avail themselves of spot crypto trading services.

Coinbase’s December 13 announcement outlined that institutional clients outside the U.S. will have the opportunity to trade Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) against USD Coin (USDC). The platform is set to launch these services on December 14, with plans to extend access to retail investors, introduce more tokens, and incorporate features enhancing trading strategies and capital efficiency.

Coinbase acknowledged the reluctance of certain asset issuers and members of the crypto community to interact with U.S. exchanges, citing concerns about the dynamic and uncertain regulatory environment in the United States.
